Accessibility at Carriage Stop Motel
We want every guest to be able to use this website and stay with us comfortably. Here is exactly what we offer, and how to reach us if something isn’t working for you.
What the accessible room actually has
Federal rules for places of lodging ask hotels and motels to describe accessible features in enough detail that you can decide for yourself whether a room meets your needs. Here is ours, in plain terms:
- Step-free route from the parking area to the room door
- Widened doorway into the room and the bathroom
- Roll-in tiled shower with no threshold to step over
- Grab bars mounted at the shower
- Grab bars mounted beside the toilet
- Comfort-height toilet
- Wall-mounted sink you can roll under
- Lowered mirror and towel bars
- Clear turning space in the bathroom
- Lever-style door hardware
We have one accessible room, so we strongly recommend calling ahead to reserve it. If you have a specific requirement — a particular transfer side, extra clear floor space, a visual alarm, or anything else — call and ask. We would rather tell you honestly before you drive here than have you arrive to a room that doesn’t work.

How we built this site
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act and by California accessibility guidance. In practice that means:
Works with a screen reader
Proper landmarks and headings, meaningful alt text on every photo, and a “skip to content” link at the top of each page.
Full keyboard navigation
Every link, button and menu can be reached and operated with the Tab and Enter keys, with a clearly visible focus outline.
Readable contrast
Text and controls meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio, and the page still works at 200% zoom.
Reduced motion respected
If your device is set to reduce motion, animations and smooth scrolling are switched off automatically.
Responsive and reflowable
The layout reflows to a single column on small screens with no horizontal scrolling.
No timed or trapping content
Nothing auto-plays, nothing expires, and there are no pop-ups that take over the page.
If something here doesn’t work for you
Accessibility work is never finished, and we would genuinely rather hear about a problem than not. If any part of this website or the property is difficult for you to use, call the front desk on (657) 231-9684 and tell us what happened.
We will help you with whatever you were trying to do — checking rates, comparing rooms, or making a reservation — right there on the phone, and we will work on fixing the underlying issue.

Questions about access? Just ask.
Call the front desk and we’ll tell you honestly whether the room will work for you before you travel.
